‘Enchanted Breath’ is a curatorial project with 12 contemporary artists from India for ‘Art for Oxygen’, an initiative by Kankali Trust that has been raising funds for socially relevant causes, which have been directly or indirectly affected by Covid 19.

An apt title that defines our times, and emphasizes the magic of breath, the life giving force, its meaning and relevance has acquired an essential connotation for all of us during this pandemic. The mere act of inhalation and exhalation is vital; any disruption to it is what makes us mortal. It is the presence and absence of breath, which defines our journey on this planet.

During the recent second wave of the pandemic, the situation across the country acquired a critical status, and it continues to have massive repercussions. Loss of lives has left families broken and shattered, grieving and struggling with emotional and psychological scars, extensive financial constraints and has left countless children without any form of support. This effort aims to raise funds through sale of artworks, where 50% of the proceeds will contribute towards causes impacted by the pandemic.
